National Economic and Development Authority has made a recent release on the versatile sustainable energy and bio energy projects are under construction and these projects will intensify the power production in the regions of the Western Visayas. The National Economic and Development Authority in the Regional Development Agenda articulated that, the committee will serve for the formation of the Medium Term Regional Development Plan and has determined various projects such as the four completed hydropower projects in the Canauilan-Barasalon Micro yielding 40-kilowatt sited in the Iloilo, Veragra-Magtuod Micro Hydro project producing 32 kilowatt and other several projects. These projects are accomplished with the combined efforts of the Japan International Cooperation Agency, Japan Fund Poverty Reduction and the Central Philippine University. These groups also provide assistance for the 15-kw project in the Antique and the few other projects are taken in charge by the Electric Company and the Sunwest Water.
If you check the historical background, you will get confirmed that the most devastating nuclear explosion in Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan has proved the scale of the severity of such explosion. It released the huge energy and heat which tuned the two populated states into the necropolis deserts.
Don't take it in wrong way. What I mean to say is that nuclear energy is more powerful in comparison to other sources of energy. It will come to you as boon if our scientists are able to make the proper usage of this fantastic and power hidden source.
There are a number of functionalities of this nuclear energy to activate our society and the industries in true sense of terms. The fist advantage you will get by producing the nuclear energy is the least scope for wasting the power. There will be no wastage material and other chemical components during the production of this powerful atomic energy. It will give your full mental relaxation and comfort.
Nuclear energy is by far better and much more protected. The radiation can be kept in safe. The nuclear energy plant has the capacity to control the radiation. Therefore the chance for the explosion is very low. Therefore, we should depend on this power to heat the furnace or rekindle the houses and streets. If the precautionary measures are taken with much care to avoid the accidents, we will be much benefited. In the USA at least six states produce the nuclear energy for the domestic and commercial purposes.
Nuclear energy does not directly necessarily equate to bombings and casualties. Although it might seem highly technical, nuclear energy or any type of energy results from a series of reactions, consequently transforming matter to energy. The most notable form of energy at present is the sun. The sun's energy is basically noted to be boundless and endless when seen from the perspective of a human lifetime. It can be projected that around 16% of the electricity on earth came from nuclear energy.
Our bodies themselves are comprised of atomic elements, principally:
Oxygen Calcium Sodium Chlorine
Carbon Phosphorus Magnesium Fluorine
Hydrogen Potassium Iron Silicon
Nitrogen Sulphur Iodine Manganese
That's a pretty interesting list, isn't it? But don't a lot of nutritional practitioners say that chlorine and fluoride is bad for you? Indeed they are, but the difference is, who made them. You may see several elements on this list that are not considered healthful in their man-made forms. But in their original nature-made forms, they are an essential part of human life. Even in their natural forms, however, any one of them can become unhealthful if it is not in the proper balance with the rest. All repair work and regeneration of damaged tissue is done from within our bodies, except for physical damage, such as deep cuts or broken bones where we work in cooperation with natural repair processes to bring about better healing. If our bodies do not contain these elements in the correct proportions, the imbalance creates toxicity, or poisoning. To regain and maintain the proper balance and proportion, most of the food we eat, about 80%, must be raw food, not cooked or processed food. Raw foods contain the live, vital organic elements our bodies need to be healthy.
Nuclear power plants work on the same principle as conventional power plants except for the fact that the heat energy required to convert the working medium into steam is not attained by burning fossil fuels but rather through the process of nuclear fission. During this reaction, a large amount of energy is released which the power plant uses to produce electrical current. Nuclear fission is attained by a nuclear reaction between heavy atomic nuclei and neutrons, which are elementary particles without electrical charge. In this nuclear reaction, the nuclei are broken down into two, releasing more neutrons in the process. These released neutrons then bombard into other atoms, resulting in further fragmentation. This process is referred to as a nuclear fission chain reaction. A condition for this chain reaction to occur is when neutrons freed during fission react with other atomic nuclei to create further nuclear fission. This resulting chain reaction continues until all available material has been broken down. Nuclear fuel, usually a mixture of various uranium isotopes, is cleaned during production and processed, usually into fuel rods.
Countries all over the world are taking a second look at their own nuclear power plants to determine if they could withstand a natural disaster of this magnitude. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is responsible for regulating nuclear power plants in the United States. Amidst public concern, the NRC issued a statement to let the public know they will begin reviewing all U.S. nuclear power plants to establish if the reactors could remain intact under similar circumstances as those in Japan. As fear rises about the safety of nuclear reactors, the natural gas industry seems to be seeing an increase in demand. The $99 trillion natural gas industry has seen an 11% rise in futures since the disaster in Japan. Furthermore, tighter air pollution rules limiting carbon emissions for utilities being implemented by the Environmental Protection Agency may cause utilities to close some coal plants, driving up demand for natural gas.
Renewable Energy Credits (RECs), also known as Green Tags, are tradable environmental commodities that represent the 'clean aspect' of one megawatt-hour (MWh) of electricity generated from renewable energy. These certificates can be sold and traded and the owner of the REC can claim to have purchased renewable energy. RECs put a monetary value on carbon-neutral renewable energy by providing financial incentive for electricity generated from renewable sources. A solar generator is issued one REC for every 1,000 kWh of electricity it produces. The electricity is fed into the electrical grid or used on-site, and the accompanying REC can then be sold on the open market.
The wasteful consequences of nuclear energy are not only in its military use, as was proven following the atomic bomb dropped on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. But, as was shown in the nuclear power plant accident in Chernobyl in 1986, the peaceful use of nuclear energy also carries with it its unexpected risks. Not only did thousands of people die immediately following the reactor's failure but also due to the cancer illnesses clearly resulting from this accident. Besides this, there is a clear rise in the number of miscarriages and birth defects in the area surrounding Chernobyl. At that time, a radioactive cloud engulfed all of Europe. Although the consequences of this accident were not directly visible in all parts of Europe, increased amounts of radiation were observed in many locations. To avoid such an accident from taking place in the future, some countries have decided to stop producing nuclear energy outright. Furthermore, many residents living near border regions neighbouring countries still operating or building nuclear power plants are protesting against it. It can be generally stated that, even in light of many safety and preventive measures, the use of nuclear energy has many risks hidden within it in that dangerous situations can occur at all locations along its fuel circuit. The risks involved do not only relate to, as it is often erroneously believed, the actual fusion process, the storage of uranium or its recycling and transport but also on the mining of uranium and the creation of radioactive dumpsites. The biproducts of nuclear fission, such as radioactive radon gas created from waste containing remains of radium, leads to greater occurrences of lung cancers, evident with miners or residents living near radioactive waste dumps.Nuclear power has long been a bone of contention in a growing community of people world-wide which embrace the principles of green living. The problem is that there is more demands on energy resources and for new supplies, and there are some serious issues regarding supplies from wind farms, solar power and other renewable resources. Burning fossil fuels we know is not the answer, and nuclear power is at least clean, but clean with insidious overtones when looked at from the point of view of Chernoble. Can pee power your lights - well apparently it can; it's new green technology from Ohio University's Gerardine Botte. Hydrogen fuel created from urine! There are two main compounds found in urine - urea and ammonia, these are both a good source for the creation of hydrogen gas when an electrode is passed into the waste water and a current is applied. A company - E3 Clean Technologies has commercialized this under a process called GreenBox technology which is aimed at providing pee power for large groups of people. The target is stadiums and city buildings where there is the potential to generate 2 kilowatts of power from approximately 300 people - not actually the people, but their urine. There is an animal feedlot pollution prevention principles also involved in their thinking, and Botte believes that 1000 cows could generate up to 50 kilowatts of power. Botte is not the only one taking pee power seriously, Inhabitat reported last year on energy-producing urinals and the BBC covered another UK based research group, which aims to test urine powered fuel cells for powering submarines.
For many years we have been trying to get away from using fossil fuels and old inefficient electrical grinds. But, the move toward the widespread use of alternative energy sources has been a history of stop and goes attempts. Research and development of new technologies are needed for use to find cost-effective ways to harness this seemingly endless supply of clean, natural energy. The most talked about form of alternative energy resources we can tap is wind power. The development and engineering of wind turbines continues to improve as the popularity, aka capital funding availability, spreads among the business community. In fact "wind farms" have begun to spring up across the world. The biggest issues with these wind farms are the noise vibration they emit and the danger to birds. No complete research has been completed to understand how the low ultrasonic vibrations may affect other wildlife; or humans.
Rowing in popularity is solar energy. It is abundant and easy to capture for alternative energy use. The manufacturing of solar cells has rapidly developed with multiple uses adapted for small and even large scale applications. These solar cells gather the light energy given off by the sun which can be easily converted into electricity. It also is widely used to naturally generate hot water. Solar energy joins wind energy as alternative energy sources that create zero pollution. That is if you don't count sound or landscape alterations as pollution.
Wind power is an alternative energy resource that we harness with wind turbines. They are continually being developed with demand and are progressively becoming cheaper and more efficient in energy. There are many "wind farms" which can be seen, that are strategically placed so as not to jeopardize the bird population in their natural environment. The first wind turbines were not so well placed. Governments and investors see Ocean Wave Energy as having great potential for generating energy. In France, a generator of this kind has been operation for several years, deemed to be a great success. In Ireland and Scotland there are now facilities up and running in their experimental phase. Geothermal energy lies just under our feet directly and there is an abundance of it available. A few miles just below the surface of the earth, we can tap into this energy. The hot molten core of the earth heats the water on the surface, to produce energy, which is harnessed once it turns into steam. This steam is used to drive turbine engines so as to generate electricity. More research should be done on geothermal energy so we can tap into its resources and develop it more for use.
Atomic energy is being created by regenerating nuclear plants for a carbon free energy source with nuclear fission. A great amount of power can be generated which makes this type of energy very efficient. The concern from people is of the radioactive waste product of atomic energy, although there is very little it still takes hundreds of years to decay before it becomes harmless.
